Are you ready?
Are you really ready to do that thing you’ve been dreaming of doing, be that person you’ve always dreamed of being?
Do you know what you need to know?
Do you have all the skills you need to have?
Have you practiced until your fingers have bled?
Could you do it in your sleep?
Are you doing it without permission or payment or positive feedback?
Are you getting up early, staying up late, working through lunch (and sometimes dinner)?
Have you tried to walk away, forget the whole thing, be happy with what you have?
It’s not going away.
Not without taking part of you with it, anyway.
A good part, maybe your best part… the part that’s passionate and driven and in love with this thing that keeps trying to take over your life and push its own agenda.
That’s the key.
Stop trying to control and manipulate it and start letting it lead you where it wants to lead you.
It knows the way.
It’ll take you to the teachers, the experiences, the seemingly random events that will push you to the next level.
It wants what you want.
It dreams what you dream.
It sees the same possibilities you see.
But that’s all it sees… pure promise, possibility and potential.
It doesn’t have doubts and fears.
It doesn’t look at other people and think “who am I to think I can do or be that?”
It doesn’t feel compelled to follow the rules or the crowd.
It believes in you, even when you don’t believe in yourself.
It chose you.
And all it really wants is for you to choose it back… be all in… surrender to its will.
Being ready doesn’t mean you know everything there is to know.
It means you know enough.
It doesn’t mean you can’t make a mistake.
It means you won’t die if you do.
It doesn’t mean success is guaranteed.
It means you’ll be okay without it.
Are you ready?
How will you know?
Will there be a sign, an announcement, a starter’s whistle?
Maybe, but probably not.
If you need a sign, here it is…
